The S2 Femoral A/R is a locking nail system that brings together all the capabilities and benefits of separate antegrade and retrograde nailing systems to create a single, integrated surgical resource for fixation of femoral fractures.
It is designed as One Implant for left or right side and Two Approaches: antegrade and retrograde.
All nails are cannulated. Diameters 9 -14 mm nails use 5.0 mm locking screws proximal and distal and do not require guide wire exchange after reaming.
Different End Caps provide a "best fit" for every indication and prevent bony ingrowth into the driving end to facilitate nail removal.
Furthermore, the development of the S2 Femoral A/R Nailing System offers the advantages of:
- Not limiting the approach to a certain nailing technique.
- Accommodating reamed or unreamed procedures.
- Providing a Distal Guided Locking option (with the S2 Distal Targeting Device).
